Using my original drawing as the guide I outlined the text for the 'Wonders' and laid on basic colours to get the atmosphere right. Then I started on the details of cracks and crevices. These I did by simply sketching with a pen, on the screen, and then passing various emboss and channel effects over them. Once I was happy with the result I laid it over the text with a multiply effect. Initially I kept the face of the text light but my client felt it didn't produce enough drama in the finished piece so I created a darker crevice effect on the face to compliment the sides.
